The floor support hoops were butt welded in position. Muddy set the amperage high enough to get full penetration, and they’re as strong as ever. The disturbance to the galv coating was limited to a few mm eaither side of the welds and did not get anywhere near the main rails. The hoops have been given 2 coats of Schutz, and will get more tomorrow.
