I have pursued the oil loss issue harshly. Some external leaks were evident already, mainly accumulating on the bottom left side of the flywheel housing. It now seems that this was due to a split rocker cover seal, which is being replaced. That’s the easy bit.

I just thought you might like to see what 75L of vegoil looks like before dropping it in the fuel tanks! I got this from Tesco, and it woks out at slightly less than half the price of diesel. I still intend to use waste vegoil, but my garage is full of tools [...]

I have now fitted the fuel heater to enable the engine to run on vegoil (SVO). It’s fitted between the fuel filter and Kenlowe Hotstart, and uses engine coolant running to the cabin heater matrix to heat the fuel to over 80oC.
