A bit more specification creep. i have bought a reversing sensor kit with four sensors and audible warning.
I had reservations about kit (or, at least, my wallet did), but considering the damage that can be done to the LR and anything behind it, epecially children, in a reversing collision, and the poor rearward visibility that Series LRs and Defenders have, it seemed a simple choice. The sensor is powered by the reverse light harness, so is only powered up while reversing, and since it is easily spliced into the harness, it’s not going to affect anthing else or cause troble if it goes awry. The cost is massively offset by the potential savings from not having to pay insurance excess or increased premiums from loosing a No Claims discount, plus I’m less likely to run over my kids or damage the body of the LR, so I think it’s a good investment.
