Axles

It only took a day to remove the rear axle (with the chassis on stands), swap the brake assemblies over, wire brush and paint the ’72 axle. It was fitted the following morning after the base Hammerite dried, and was then covered with two coats of Schutz. The diff guard was then swapped over. The same was repeated on the front axle, with the front QT diff guard’s lugs being remade and attached by my friend Alun before painting, over-night drying and refitting. Not a bad three and a half days’ work, only being spoiled by the fact it looks no different than before.
