Brush Wires

Having a small amount of time on my hands, I decided to finish off a  little accessory job I started a while back – the brush wires from the bull bar to the roof rack.  I used stainless steel wire and fixings from the local chandler’s store, with cut down battery cable crimp-connectors to secure the loops in the ends of the wire.  The eye bolts on the roof rack lamp guards also came from the chandlers, and the fixing tabs on the bull bar were welded on when I was refurbishing it after finding rust creeping under the original plastic coating.  The photos show the quick release fittings at each end which allow the wires to be fitted only when needed off road (they pose a great risk to pedestrians and cyclists on road) and the turn-buckles used to tension the wires once attached and slacken them for removal.
