Door/Tub

The SIII Apron and Defender Grille panels have been modified to fit around the winch. The grille panel is now at the painters.

The driver’s door has been completely stripped. The frame will be media blasted and red-leaded before fitting the new skin. Despite the extensive rust, the frame is sound – all the corrosion is on the surface. The skin’s interior side was etch primed at the same time as for the other door. The window has gone for tinting, and should be ready before the reassembled door frame and skin are back from painting. I have new window channels, locks, handles and trim clips for this side too.

The original LR sound deadening has been reattached to the bonnet properly, so that too is ready for painting. It’ll be sent in with the seat base, which is also ready.

The tub has been mostly sanded, just a couple of patches to do now. The rear cubby lid and fuel tank inspection panel lids have been sorted foe neat closing and fixing. One more day’s work, and it too will be ready for painting.
