Front Wings – Stripping

The right wing has had its top, front and inner stripped, and the left wing is mostly done (just half an hour’s work tomorrow to finish cleaning it up). The outers are being replaced with 90/110 wings that I collected today, which are thicker than Defender skins and will allow the use of the snorkel on the left side. This will save me from re-filling all the dents in the originals, dealing with their corrosion, and from having the redundant heater intake hole in the left wing (which is in the wrong position to accept the Defender intake ducting required). It also means that the panels will have full rigidity, as opposed to the flexiblity of the originals incurred by cutting away the wheelarch lip.
