The stripdown revealed the extent of the bulkhead’s rot. While repairable, a good replacement was a tidier, quicker and stronger alternative. I have bought a replacement from WWSpares, who import mint bulkheads and chassis from Australia and South Africa. It’s galvanised, so rust should no longer be a worry.

Do you have any more details for WW Spares as i need a replacement bulkhead for a series 3 I’m rebuilding, I’ve googled them but have drawn a blank.

I don’t have his details. All I remember is that his name is Tom and he was trading from a shipping container on a farm in the Bicester area. I think Mark Adams knows him well. Of course, he might have stopped trading in the last eight or nine years since I bought my bulkhead. Ashtree Services can provide new bulkheads, though they’re not cheap.
