Rear Matting

matting3matting4matting2matting1I spent this afternoon cutting and fitting the rear matting for the tub. It’s manufactured bt Wright Off Road, and matches the front mat in materials and colour, the main difference being that the rear mat has a chequer-plate effect instead of leather grain, and it comes in 8’x4′ sheets instead of having a moulded form.

The measurements were all taken, including making cardboard templates of the seatbelt anchor areas, and the measurements scrivbed onto the back of the sheet. It was all cut with a Stanley knife (use a new blade). A couple of pieces needed trimming, but it all fits well.

The vertical pieces have been fixed with contact adhesive. The tops are loose for the moment – I may glue them in once the second row seats are installed. The rear of the left top section will be left loose to get to the cubby box.

Another sheet is waiting for cutting to cover the tub floor. The offcuts will be used to cover the fronts of each wheelbox and the ledge at the front of the tub, behind the seatbase. Once everything is finally fitted, I’ll use black plastic angle extrusion to cover the edges.
