I could only spend half the day on the LR today, so only got the roof finished at 1900 – much to late to get the flatbed and swap it with the tub at the painters, so it’ll go tomorrow.
At least I managed to find the leak (stretched rivets allowing the gutter to sparate from the roof panel on the front corners – not uncommon), repair it and give a thick application of Tiger Seal to all the panel joints and throughout the gutter. By clearing out the drain outlets at the sides of each roof rib’s leading edge so that the ribs no longer fill with water, I hope to have stopped any future water ingress through the spot welded joints hidden by the roof ribs.
I also cut and trimmed the alpine window appertures, removed all traces of the silicone from the sunroof apperture and replaced it with more white Tiger Seal (paint stick perfectly well to the latter), (they had been sealed with Dumdum, Mastic or similar by a previous owner or LR fitter).
