I’ve been trying to clean up the interior of the roof, getting all the old glue and carpet backing off. Tomorrow morning I’ll get the little strips of silicone sealant off from around the sunroof apperture and cut the alpine window holes. then I’ll hire a flatbed truck again to take the roof to the painter, bringing the tub back with me. I saw the tub before the final coat was applied… it looks gorgeous!
I’ve had a poke around under the bonnet to work out how I’m going to fit the batteries. I was going to fit one large battery, but decided that a 70+A main and 80+A leisure battery would be more prudent, given the number of accessories. To fit them under the bonnet, I need to move the Kenlowe Hot Start to the underside of the original rad/bonnet slam panel and to remove the slanted steel plate that the Hot start is mounted on (above the steering relay). This will allow me to fit two batteries end-to-end tight to the rad panel, leaving enough room for the steering box drop arm to move freely.
