I haven’t been doing a great deal recently.
I have finished polishing all of the body work except the bonnet, bulkhead vents flaps and rear door, and have fitted all the plastic Defender wheelarches except for the front left. That one is waiting for the under wing mudshield to be cut to fit around the Defender heater intake and fitted first. A small U-channel will have to be fabricated and fitted between the bottom of that mudshield and the corner of the footwell that the mudshield normally attatches to in order to allow space for the fitted snorkel ducting.
I have cleared up the back of the interior and measured up all the tub surface dimensions for cutting the Wright Off Road matting. I plan to fit the rear most seats (Exmoor Trim Trakkers) as soon as the mounting plates/hinges have been stripped and repainted.
I still need to get the engine going to prove the fuel system before fitting the seatbase. Doing so is not easy as I need to fit the batteries properly first, inclusing fabricating their mountings, as the heavy duty jump leads I have tried using don’t provide a big enough contact area where I connect them to the fitted leads, resulting in the jump leads having too much electrical resistance to crank the engine and over heating.
