Here are some pictures of the swapped rear axle. It looks just the same as before except for one key point; the spring shackle now sits on the correct side of vertical, rather than hanging forwards, so I know thwe suspension now has it’s correct geometry.

It only took a day to remove the rear axle (with the chassis on stands), swap the brake assemblies over, wire brush and paint the ’72 axle. It was fitted the following morning after the base Hammerite dried, and was then covered with two coats of Schutz. The diff guard was then swapped over. The […]
