My new toys were delivered to day. I bought a 2-tonne engine crane, 1/2 tonne load leveller and a set of four wheel dollies so that I can push the RR (or any other vehicle) around the garage to make more working space. The whole lot arrived 26 hours after ordering and cost £250, including VAT and delivery, so is a pretty good deal and will save me plenty of agro and money on removing engines and transmissions as hiring is costly over several days and is a pain to organise and collect. They needed assembly, but it’s pretty straightforward and the electric wrench made it quick and easy to do up the nuts and bolts.
It means I will now be able to remove the RRC engine at my own pace without having to worry about deadlines, but can also finally get on with it without shuffling the car back outside, standing it partially stripped in the winter weather.
