Still Polishing

These things take time…

wheelarchesThe right hand side is almost complete – it just needs a few spots finished by hand. Incidentally, that is not a defect just above the jerrycan locker – it’s the corner of the house’s bay window reflecting on the radius of the tub that looks like a dent in the photo!
The left side is being a little tougher.  The tub and hard top will be fine, but the door pillar and front wing skin polished through. I’m trying some paint I had made up for home application. So far, the texture is terrible, but it might flat down and polish satisfactorally. If it doesn’t work well enough, I’ll complete the build leaving the left wheel arch off and have the whole left outer wing skin and door pillar repainted properly.

The roof was due yesterday, but still wasn’t redone. He’s promised to do it this afternoon or tomorrow morning, to be ready for collection in the afternoon, but I’m not hopeful.rear lights

In the mean time, to make myself a little happier with some tangible progress, I have fitted right hand side’s wheelarch spats and the right side rear lights. The standard Defender reflectors don’t fit now, but I’ll fit red reflective tape to the corner protectors instead.
