Apart from the plastic wheel arch spat, which has a small 3″ gouge, all the accident damage had been rectified. This included fitting new fog and reverse lights on the right hand side, new chequer plates, a new tub cross member and a new reversing sensor system (the old system had a wrecked sensor and the ECU had been damaged when somebody removed the batteries to carry out the chassis or body repairs). The insurers have authorised the replacement of all the wheel arch spats with brand new, so that they match each other, after Rogers were unable to source a decent second hand one that would match the other existing spats.
Also shown in the photo is one of the plain black fuel filler covers sent to me by Mark for trial by Defendoor.co.uk. I think it’s very smart, and I’ll be continuing to use them.
HI HAVE ONLY JUST DISCOVERED YOUR GREAT SITE .AS A LONG TIME LR FAN AND SOUTHERN ROVER OWNER MEMBER (35YRS+) HAVE SEEN THE FUEL FILLER COVER BEFORE BUT ONLY ON 110 . CAN YOU GET THEM FOR A 300TDI 90 ? KEEP UP THE MAGNIFICENT WORK SHALL PASS ON THE SITE TOO . THANKS GREGG
Hi Gregg,
Unfortunately, Defendoor seem to have stopped trading several years ago. I never did see a version for 90s with forwards fuel tanks. You could make a hinged version from aluminium sheet, or have a panel secured by magnets mounted inside the aperture to achieve similar or even neater results. It is useful in snowy or sandy conditions to keep the filler clear.
Nick.
